The unit has AM and FM input selectors which have little value in todays cable focused world and should be replaced by other input capabilities. As there is only 1 HDMI input port, 1 RCA, and 1 component input soif you have a cable box, an extra DVD recorder. RoKu (Netflix) box, and a separate VHS unit you'll need to add consentrator bridges. The PT1050 produces excellent sound quality and is very intuitive to use. However; I am very pleased with the quality Just to set expectations, the wireless is from the main unit to a single reciever which require wires to go to each rear speaker. The wireless connector to the rear speaker unit make for the delivery of a full sound when listening. The unit could be more versital if there was more inport ports than provided.
We have contacted Panasonic several times, and they've now given us an option of waiting for it to be repaired again (who knows how long that will take since the part they need is out of stock) OR they will pay us to send the unit back to them, MINUS the sales tax that we paid. So we had 4 months of a unit that would work, and 5 months (so far). So we drive 45 minutes AGAIN to the repair shop, this time they had to replace all sorts of parts (right, so much for that "loose wire") and took about a month to get it back. So, basically we are losing $42 by buying this unit, plus figure about $100 in gas to take it to and pick up from the repair shop.Amazon has told us there is nothing they can do, unless we want to return it for 50% of what was paid. So we drive 45 minutes AGAIN to the repair shop, and this time the whole circuit board needs to be replaced. Buying this system was the worst mistake we ever made.
We got it back 2 weeks later (it was a "loose wire") and after using it about 2 times the thing practically exploded on us. of it NOT working. After 4 months, the LED display stopped working. But of course, as luck would have it, the part is on backorder. So, I will never buy another Panasonic product again, nor will I ever buy anything from Amazon again. We had to drive 45 minutes to the closest Panasonic warranty repair shop.
Sooooo, we use it again, and after about 4 times of using it, the LED went out again.
So now, I will bring it to the reparation center. I bought this system through buy.com first and received it at home defective: the sub-woofer doesn't switch on (zero light, not even the red one while waiting for shynch). Hope this story will help you.Emanuele Otherwise, I would spend the shipping fees and loose it for the second time. So I returned to the system to Buy.com and decided to buy it from a more reliable website ==> Amazon.comUnfortunately the new system has the same problem. and I made sure it is not my mistake while I set up it.
That date has also past and I'm now being told by Amazon that they don't know when they'll get it in stock and they'll email me if they ever do. I'd like to review this item but I have yet to receive it. Why continue to take orders for an item you can't fulfill. Meanwhile they still have it for sale. I placed my order on March 15 and was told it may take two months for delivery after I ordered it. Two months came and went and was given a new estimated delivery date.
Lack of PERSONAL sound adjustement(Treble, Mid, Lows, etc.).Overall, this is a great product. Rear speakers mounted on wall easy and box hidden under couch.2. Just look at the reviews.if all you can find to complain about is the 'manual being too small', then it MUST be good.lol Now.if only I can figure out how to make the highs come out. No delay, no 'unresponsive'.
The Sony's highs were significantly better than this system.PROs: 1. and it looks great. Just installed this system. Have a total of 4hrs listening time on it, but I am pretty good at setup and sound adjustement. SUB is AMAZING. Surround is flawless.
It does exactly what it says, it is easy to set up(yes, sub included). You would swear they were wired like a traditional system.CONs:1. I like clear and crisp, and thus far, I havnt gotten it. Reciever is HUGE.3. This thing is nearly too much.3. That is a big dissapointment for me.2. My previous system was a Sony Dream System(BTW, DO NOT BUY ONE.).and though it was a COMPLETE PILE OF UNRELIABLE CRAP, it sounded GREAT.
I havnt been able to 'clean up' the sound. Quick CD changes/swaps/and play feature.5. Easy set up, no wires to snake everywhere. Beautifuly crafted and finished(looks more expensive that it is).4.
